Guest cookoff013 Posted June 9, 2014 Report Share Posted June 9, 2014 ok so i am making some 12 gauge 70mm cases . 32 grams of no7 with 24 grain of powder. i find i have some no5 shot , do i use the same amout of powder i.e the 24 grains ? same amount, but i would not use bigger shotsizes than #1. after that the shot is so big it starts to occupy more space, hence why buckshot uses really big wads. if you are metering from a machine the fit will be the same as any shotsize. if you weigh the shot, you may start having fit issues with either large or small shotsize.
