I have a light fitting and I want to replace the halogen bulbs for LED. It uses these at the moment: Link to Ikea Any advice on what to get? I want a balance between value and longevity. Led bulbs dont heat up as much and more efficient. aris Posted June 11, 2014 Report Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) After buying some rubbish on ebay from a chinese seller (aweful LED's - green in colour and a horrible flicker), I got some excellent ones from here: http://www.ledbrite.co.uk/ I didn't use the halogen GU10 downlighters like what you have - just regular bayonet type fittings. One thing I will say is that when they say 40w or 60w equivalent, they usually aren't quite. Go for something brighter than quoted. My '40W' equivalent consumes 3.5w - which is amazing. Also watch out for the colour temperature of the light. I find the 'cool white' colours to be a bit too stark, and prefer the 'warm white' types, but this is personal preference.
