overandunder2012
if you compare now to 1939 the question is in a call up how many would want to go to another country to fight not many i think as nobody would think for example the ukraine being invaded would be worth dying for i know i wouldnt if im honest , it maybe different in invasion circumstances people probably would sign up for defending their homes. if the prime minister announced we are at war with russia everyone would say good luck mate get on with it. i dont know anyone who would be game for the russian front these days a cushy english nick with sky tv and a pool table looks far more attractive Edited June 15, 2014 by overandunder2012

It's not NATO who are fiddling around in Ukraine affairs. It's the EU. Fortunately the EU have no real military presence at the moment, but it's certainly on their agenda. The US don't want to get drawn into a protracted stand off with the Russians in eastern Europe, and as the main military partner in the NATO alliance that pretty much leaves us impotent to the Russian threat. Pastiebap
I'm with you on that! If i was Putin and Nato were fiddling around on my doorstep ( The Ukraine) I would be tetchy as well. Thats what gets me, the Russians were getting involved in Syria (who happen to be a long standing ally of theirs) and the yanks and EU start jumping up and down and telling them to stay out. Yet the EU and Yanks think it's perfectly fine to meddle in the affairs of a country within Russias sphere of influence. Any wonder Putin is a tad miffed.
