Pykie
The corvids had been hammering the cattle feed on one of the farms on our pheasant shoot. Having shot 79 on cut grass last week, they had now wised to that and we decided to ambush them near the barns but where? We didn't want to upset the cattle too much and Dad spotted a disused stand too barn near to where the corvids flight line was. Setting up in the cool of the shade was lovely and being in the shadows, the corvids could not see us at all. Our field of fire was a little limited due to firing from the doorway but being youngsters they gave us enough opportunities to reduce their numbers. Used my Beretta auto today instead of the 28 gauge and had some lovely kills and left and rights, using FOB Viper 7.5s. Best shot was a snap shot at a magpie that exploded in a puff of black and white. Several ended up on the roof which the farmer said he didn't mind at all just keep knocking them down! Ended with 68 mixed corvids and the magpie. That's 666 corvids in five weeks!!

hawkeye
Kdubya came out to play last Tuesday and we set up at the back of the building where the black ones come into feed on the cattle meal. Always trouble on this farm with them we ended the day on 95 one happy farmer.. We went out again with mag357 yesterday on the farmers brother and next door farm ( new shoot ) thanks to the black ones. We set up on 2 fields next to each other of laid barley Mag and me got just over 80 and kdubly had 40 + hardly any picked as they were landing in the crop and we would have done more damage trying to pick them so just left them farmer was happy and his old man ( must be well over 80 ) could not believe we had shot over 100...
