wymberley
Mine malfunctioned, but reading the manual, it was easy to reset. It happened several times. Booked it into the main dealer to have it checked out next Friday. Now it's working fine. Read manual again and found that "environmental conditions" can cause this. Rang dealer and we agreed it was best to let the appointment stand in case it happened again and they could still give it a quick once over. I asked if one of the said conditions could be the heat. The answer was...............yep, you've guessed! 25*C when it failed and at 16 it's working fine. Defies any logic.
39TDS
It is a big hole in them, not surprising they can go wrong. I personally don't get sunroofs. As soon as you slide the cover back you have the sun beating down on you hotter than it was. I thought their purpose was to keep you cool. I have an X-trail, the sliding cover squeaks and it drives me potty, same in the last two Terranos as well.
wymberley
All is well - except for a sunroof it does seem daft to me - it is assumed that the thermal cut out operated as the vehicle had been standing in the hot sun with the roof open and when closing it, the extra force required to collapse the screen tipped it over the edge.
