rich1985
Been watching some rape stubble on one of my permissions for a few days since it's been cut. Today was the day for a kill I felt, weather and wind were favourable, set up at 11.45. I took a friend he set up on one side of the field and I set up on the other using bales to make our hides. The action started instantly but the pigeons were hard work, not wanting to decoy most of the time, I tried using a magnet, bouncers etc but they still didn't want to know, I've never ever had a day like this, I just couldn't work out what was wrong, if they would have decoyed we would have ended up with 200 to 250 no problem, can't say I shot to straight either! Never mind. Packed up at 5pm, Managed 102 woodies, 2 jackdaws and 2 carrion crows. Was a nice day out despite the pigeons frustrating me!! Rich1985. rich1985
Just wish they would have decoyed properly, would have been well aver 200 I feel, hope they keep working it, they were still going on the field while I packed up in good numbers but I had to do my pheasants and partridges.
