Paul in North Lincs.
A Lurcher is a cross between any of the sighthound breeds crossed with any other non-Sighthound breeds eg Greyhound x Border Collie or Whippet x Bedlington Terrier etc. (nor does it have to be a first cross). Depending on their breeding Lurchers can be as small as Whippets or as big as an Irish Wolfhounds. They can be smooth-haired like Greyhounds, shaggy like Deerhounds or feathered like Salukis. Within the category of 'Lurcher', there are also 'Longdogs' ie sighthounds crossed with other sighthounds eg Deerhound x Greyhound or Saluki x Greyhound etc.......................hope this helps matey

Paul in North Lincs.
thats all down to personal preference........and what you want the dog to do............personally If I had the need for a long dog, I would go Saluki / Greyhound.....................lurcher wise....................well, my pictures speak for themselves...................greyhound bull crosses all day
