ExView NV spotter - DIY or built for you

This is a pre-production trial build of my new CCTV night vision spotter. The M42 lens carrier is machined from ABS rod costing over £200 per meter! icon_crazy.gif

The reason I use that is so I can use an ABS bush to solvent weld it to the ABS battery/screen enclosure to become a one piece integral module that the home builder easily fits their M42 SLR lens and E700 type box camera to.

The jointing bush increases the welded surface area between the two main components and its other purpose has its inside diameter the same size as the widest part of the box camera neck. The idea of that nifty little trick is so the builder can simply use two small dabs of hot melt glue or silicone rubber adhesive to fix the camera perfectly central and aligned at the correct focal length from the lens. icon_angel.gif

The enclosure pod is designed specifically for 5" monitors to slip slightly inside the box to form a lid, thereby keeping all of the wiring and batteries totally concealed inside. The monitor is retained on two welded seats just inside using velcro - and can be removed to fit or swap batteries in the field.

It takes two 18650 rechargeable batteries - or four CR123 batteries - not supplied.

Price for the built spotter is £280 without the IR torch conversion because most NV shooters already have their own.

501b or T20 IR illuminators can be supplied with the mount for an additional £40 excluding batteries, both of which require one 18650. DO NOT USE cr123's in these illuminators.

A separate video will be uploaded with build info for the DIY builder.

The enclosures will also be available separately for other types of home build NV rigs at £20 for the basic enclosure or £30 for one with a 1" or 30mm buyer specified hole in it and two internal tabs that the screen can be velcro'd to.

Anything I ship to UK is done at a slightly subsidised £6 RMSD.
