rich1985
Hi guys and gals. Got a problem someone may be able to help me with. I had my DIY nightvision camera mounted on a rail lookin through the scope, had this set up a while and killed many vermins! With the camera being like this it made me paranoid I was going to knock it etc so I have now put the camera in a tube and on the eye bell (same set up as evo). Now with the old design I could see eyes at 200 yards easy and was shooting at 130 yards no problem. Since putting camera in tube design I can hardly make out a rabbit at 100 yard, same illuminator, same camera. It's as if the illuminator isn't powerfull enough even though I know it is as it worked fine on the old design, ive tryed 2 illuminators. During day image is fantastic. Is it with this tube design not enough light enters the scope? I just don't know. Help and or advise please!!! Rich1985.
FalconFN
Is the distance between the camera and scope the same?

Dave1087
Is it the battery's in the ir torch?
FalconFN
There should be no negative effect of having a tube instead of a rail. Something else must have changed. I'm assuming the scope is the same so Tthe only things i can think of are an alignment issue - either of the camera in the tube or of the lens on the camera, a battery issue, a damaged component during the swap over or a accidental change of camera settings. Could you swap the cam back to the rail and test again?
activeviii
the inside of the tube might be reflective and causing your problem. light sand the insides and see how it goes
rich1985
Thanks guys. I will try taking it off and putting it back on the rail. Battery's in IR fine. Will try all issues stated and then let you all know. Up to 50 yards an night it's fine, just strange, image during day perfect. Let you know when it's dark. Thanks again. Rich.
