foxnet22
Hi there I had similar problems with my ford transit, although not the same vehicle I know.I'd tried allsorts and after all it came down to fuel filter housing.it was sucking in air and causing a air block in the pipes.I disconnecte feed pipe to pump and placed it in a pop bottle filled with deisel and it started no problem.replaced the fuel filter housing 25 quid from scrap yard never had a problem since.maybe you have a similar problem. Paul223
Checked timing today, crank, cam and pump all on the pointers, Cracked off and pulled back injector pipe unions, wound it over to find very little fuel delivery / squirt. Not 100% sure what to see but seemed very little to me. Ok, can you tell me the engine code or if you don't know send a PM with the reg

mickanles
Just done a compression test, All cylinders 300 psi / 20.6 bar , Do you think this is on the low side for a diesel and contributing to my starting problems? Paul223
Boarder line Use some thin plastic pipe or whatever you have thats suitable and a small syringe to direct a few mill of clean engine oil onto the cylinder wall, do this at a few points on the wall if possible and BY HAND rotate the engine over a couple of turns then compression test again and repeat for each cylinder in turn Are the results the same or have they bumped up ?
