terrior
Hello Looking for advice. The gun I shoot well is a fixed 3/4 - full choke barrel. I don't fancy multy choking it. The shoot I go to have a few duck drives, So my dilemma is what non toxic would I be best using ( I've heard bad reports about bismuth ) Should I start reloading !!!!! Your thoughts welcome Thanks in advance
kent
Why not just open it up to half as a fixed choke then, it will be cheaper than shooting bismuth. That said "driven duck" aint my thing pesonally and mostly I see them too high to shoot humanely or too low to provide sport
Guest topshot_2k
Bismuth is best option, the new eley loads are very good and much better than early bismuth. I use it on both ducks and geese and it isnt that expensive unless your shooting large numbers Edited September 23, 2014 by topshot_2k
casts_by_fly
I shoot steel through a 3/4 and if you're talking about duck sizes like #4 then it wouldn't really bother me for a modern gun. I've shot tungsten matrix in goose sizes through a tight full O/U to no ill effect also and would do it again in a modern gun. If you're shooting an older gun or a slightly built gun (or a high value gun and just don't want to risk it) the bismuth would be safe as would nice shot. thanks, rick
