paul1966
had a couple of rat sized holes appear in the lawn near the bird feeders, removed the bird food but the rats did not move on. i got some rat bait in the form of wheat grain and poured in into the two holes, after about 3 days the poison was not touched again. along side this i put 2 bait boxes in the area, the bait in these has continued to be eaten. question is do i continue to bait the stations or am i poisoning the local population of mice & rats? we live in a rural location so there are plenty about. pistolgrip
Unfourtunately wild mammals can pick up preset poisons thats why my main courses of action with rats are 1/ air rifle 2/ live traps 3/ smoke and terriers but of the three smoke and terriers the most effective but with all three you know exactly what your dispatching. mark@mbb
the holes will just be used to and from your feeders there main residence will be in next doors or some where similar
johnnythefox70
Put a golf ball size of bait in freezer bags and tie with a knot and push down holes then block up with soil to prevent them kicking it back out. Also you will be able to see if there are fresh activity if they have re-opened.
paul1966
covered the holes up and they have not reappeared so i am sure they are not being used, had a good look around and can't see any more holes, i have re baited the stations and will see how fast the bait goes down.
