reggiegun
Me and my son Alix have just been to Blunderbust's place in Norwich for some stalking. We meet up with Jimmy on the A47, on Thursday afternoon, then went on to put up the high seat for me to go in in the morning. This was at some Lady's garden, saying garden it was massive, see had been having trouble with Muntjac. Anyway back to Jimmy's house where we were treated like lords, wined, dined and some cans of cider, then finished off with a nice Irish coffee. Up at 4.00am, quick coffee and toast, then off we went. I was up in the high for about 5.30 and Alix went with Jimmy for a stalk else where. I didn't see anything in shooting range from the high seat but I did see a munjac down the bottom of the wood. Alix and Jimmy saw a Roe Buck, but it was not on the fields Jimmy had permission. Alix did get a fox in his sights but it would not stop for a safe shot. Anyway they came to pick me up and we where of to his estate, we got there and it was my turn to stalk, Alix in the back ground. We where looking every where, there was lots of cover, plenty places for the deer to lie up and not be seen. Unfortunately we never seen any deer, so we made it back to the vehicle, on getting to the motor, Alix spots a Munjac running up the hedge row, sticks out and following it along, waiting for it to enter the gate opening for a safe shot, Jimmy shouts to stop it in its tracks, I shot it and it ran back into the hedge row, Jimmy then walked up and found 30 yards along the hedge row. Thankyou, Jimmy and family for making us so welcome, we hope to be back next July, if you will have us. Reggiegun
