Big Spence
Hi all I'm about to apply for a SGC, my stumbling block is about 9 /10 years ago I was involved in a fight in my local town and at the time got arrested for ABH and got bailed a few times but then had all charges dropped will this have to go on my application? Cheers Spence.
tx4cabbie
Yes. There is no way they won't know about it, don't let it look like you were trying to hide anything, be upfront and honest, and maybe contact feo directly, ostensibly to ask this question, but really so you can explain the situation - comes across better verbally than cold facts on a page. HDAV
Were you convicted? or accept a caution? Read the form put down everything it asks for be totally honest, if you cant remember the details you can get a print out from the police for £10-20. Be honest be prepared for some tough questions and put your application in.

HDAV
Thanks for the replies, I was convicted but must have been charged I remember being bailed twice then having all charges dropped, FEO wont know till he looks up your records (which he wont do until he has an application on his desk) probably cant tell you anyway..... you need a "subject access check" https://www.gov.uk/copy-of-police-records £10 Edited October 8, 2014 by HDAV

B725-chris
Speak to your firearms department direct and explain everything to them. They'll then advise what will happen. I'd hazard a guess you won't be their first applicant that's had a spot of bother with the law for fighting. Just be honest with them. If the application is successful, they mention your incident whilst doing the house check and interview and will likely advise that if it happens again, then you'll kiss good bye to your ticket. Best of luck with it mate. Edited October 9, 2014 by B725-chris
