Bewsher500
just answered this on the other thread but why are you using varget? on a whm? got some to try? I would say it is too slow for .222 and judging by the lack of official data from Hodgson looks like they agree. .223 loads they list are very high and the upper end is compressed, usually indicating a slow for cartridge burn rate the general consensus on solid copper is they benefit from being pushed a little faster than their cup and core counterparts H322, N130/133, RL7 would all be better burn rate choices for 50gr in .222 IMO
activeviii
Barnes suggest h322 or tac, as I have n130 in the cabinet I will have a play. H322 Max gives 3052 and tac is 3114 yet it shows the h322 being the betterowder even though its slower speeds. Thanks for the info. I will load and try again. bigoak
Varget is too slow to get good speeds out of a 222. We call it 2208. I have tested 2208 and 2206 h in 222s but bith were slow (under 3000) however both were surprisingly accurate. BM1, 2207 or Alliant Re7 will all suit your 222.
