camojohn
I’m having no luck getting pigeons come to my decoys in the rape field. However I have shot some crossing the field from who knows where. They all had large triangle shape seed in their crops. As far as I can make out this is Buckwheat which is wild bird food. Is someone actually growing wild bird food or are the pigeons raiding a locale gamekeeper’s food store? You know I think you're right. The first photo I put up was one I found on the web. Just searched for beechmast and it looks a little more like it. Edited October 16, 2014 by camojohn

Bear1cat
Hmmm, I think. depends on the size, buckwheat is smaller than beechmast.
