kippylawkid
Plenty cases reported recently of PW members shooting the same field over a number of weeks. Thought it was worth mentioning a pal of mine who has shot the same barley stubble 4 times since early September. He has picked up 690 for those 4 visits, biggest bag being the shoot last week 235. He's a jammy rascal in that he is the sole shooter on the farm and can let them build up. Even so, it's quite a return. He reckons that the birds using the field are still growing all the time, despite him shooting those numbers with loads of young pigeons. As an aside, he shoots an benelli auto and swears by Proper Cartridges 32g My invite must be lost in the post!
JDog
That is good going. The pigeons must surely be on rations in those fields by now. Incidentally I have never had any luck returning to the same field in less than 3 weeks to one month.
kippylawkid
It's uncanny JDog. However, the farm is on a private estate in a heavily wooded area that holds big numbers of pigeons. Much of the other food sources have been ploughed in and the beech mast crop in our area isn't as big as previous years. So the field is still drawing birds despite being hammered. He's talking about shooting it again this weekend. I could get to dislike him lol!
JDog
If it is of any consolation I have not heard from him either.
