Longchalk
Anyone got experience of Economy 7 meters, particularly of them going on the fritz? I'm in the process of switching to Eon from SSE.... According to my current closing meter reading for SSE I've used over £2,000 of leccy in a month, just on the economy night rate!!!..... Basically previous reading in mid Sept was 76299... But now 00080.... At face value it looks like its gone round the clock, but I'm thinking it has just randomly zeroed itself at some point...... No way I could possibly use over 700 units a night! Day rate figure is quite in keeping with previous readings. Am hoping SSE will see sense and avoid a lot of arguing , but would be good to know if these digital push button meters have form for playing up?... We did have a powercut a few weeks ago. Ps. I am categorically not running a skunk farm.

Griff36
Get prepared for a long drawn out battle! You need to move quick on this one as there will be a check meter installed at one of the DNO's substations. The check meter will normally be fitted to around 20-50 properties and measures the total usage of said properties. By taking readings from all of the other properties associated with your check meter they can determine how much electricity you have actually used.
