ernyha
There is a good reason why my mate daviddjlloyd wants to win the competition for the hide poles. He has a set(or did have)the same as me and Cranfield that is until a couple of weeks before Xmas.We were having a good day on rape(posted earlier) with his hide a few yards to the right of mine.A bird crossed from my left,I missed with 1 shot and Dave missed with his first following through with his second he also missed. There was a loud cry of ******* H*** and I looked round to see him in complete shock still sitting on his stool in the ditch but the majority of his elaborate net lying in front of him.His second shot had blown his hide pole completely in half . Too much lead or what? We can see the funny side of it now but the shot could have ricoched anywhere but as it was ,it first bent the pole to about 45o and then parted it completely. Cranfield
I hadn,t thought of using those horribly designed hide poles for targets, but its not a bad idea. If I ever met the bloke who designed them, I can think of a better thing to do with them. The N&S ones (competition prize) are proper hide poles.
