DrBlox
I bottled this year's slow gin (and last year's "ginned" sloe's in cider and bottled the previous year's sloed cider) and took a couple of snaps of a number of the sloes (with that year's gin). The sloes were picked at approximately the same time, from approximately the same place and the gin made to appproximately the same recipe so a comparison can be made. The dates indicate the year that the sloes were picked. Apologies for the poor lighting. If anyone's interested I'll do some number crunching on the sloe sizes. Mike737
After a bumper harvest last year, our sloes were virtually non-existent this year, and much smaller; very disappointing. Last year we picked all we needed within about a 6 foot length of hedge, this year miles of walking to not pick enough... Mike.
Berettacocker
Mix the sloes with melted dark chocolate, set in the fridge, yum, best liqueurs I ever had!
