fenboy
I am sure there was a post on here recently where someone had a great deal of difficulty getting a walther , it was on order for months and never did arrive to the shop from walther. The Hatsan seems liked my those that own them , never had one so cannot comment other than that.
hoggysreels
Walther .22 calibre available .. the supply of the Walther R8 .177 is too my knowledge is poor to zero. The obvious answer regards Walther R8 or Hatsan is to try them out at a gun shop. See which one feels the most comfortable to the shoulder ... atb Edited November 19, 2014 by hoggysreels
onatangent
Can only comment on the at44 as I have one, nose heavy, very accurate, long with moderator fitted, 70 shot count and durable. Easy to service once tamper proof bolt is removed and cheap for spares. Mine was faultless out of the box and am considering converting it to fac as is that good. hoggysreels
Might be wrong, but think the Hatsan AT44 has a 10 pellet magazine, whereby the Walther RM8 has an 8 pellet magazine. Apparently the shot count per fill is considerably higher on the Walther should that be of a concern. Both arn't what could be classed as lighteweights. I own a Walther R8, and considered buy a Hatsan. I won't fall into the "l've never owned one, so l've the right to slag off brigade" .. I only like wooden stocks. The Hatsan AT44-10 is available in Walnut, or it was. For the price, both offer a good pcp at an entry level. There hasn't been anything drastic in the way of reliability issues regarding the R8. Its possible if you so desired to google any pcp, and you will find reliabilty issues. Best off shooting both and make your own decision, lm sure either will fulfill your requirement .. atb Edited November 19, 2014 by hoggysreels
fog horn
Thank you guys it really is a toss up between them both by the sounds of it! I k ow this is a hard one to answer but what do you regard as most accurate? I really did think the Rotex was bang on the money from what I have heared! hoggysreels
The Walther R8 is very accurate with Bisley Long Range Gold. JSB Exacts tend to favour Lothar Walther as fitted to the R8. At 40yards the R8 was pellet on pellet "l wasn't shooting it" ... its a trial and error exercise me thinks .. you don't want to pick the wrong'un... its what pleases and impresses you most ... atb
onatangent
As has been said, try both....neither may fit you or something might not suite once in your mitts. I would only swap mine out for a t.d.r next. Hatsan at44 accuracy is second to none. Common issues with pcps are the operating knobs missing the targets. Hard to buy a bad pcp these days. Hatsan ranked in the top 5 of pcp sales last month in airgun rfd pole so the price is right for them it seems. Needs depinging and you will be set, tho that's me being fussy.
