aris
I remember when Japanese products were looked down upon - back in the 70's nobody thought much of Japanese cars. Ignore China at your peril!
norfolk dumpling
The Chinese Evoque lookalike scored Nil stars in the European safety ratings so that's how they knock £30k off the price. I've driven all the L/Rover range except the new top of range model and they are all good cars, all go well off road (provided it is 4x4 - some are not) and I especially like the HSE Freelander so when I've got £35k I might treat myself!! Took a couple of new Disco's out yesterday - wonderful but just too big for my needs but again if ever I have £50k to spare might buy one. aris
OK, I'll consider buying one in 30 years time. However, back in the real world - today - I'll ignore the Go-awful rip-offs they're churning out for the domestic market. Japanese cars were overtaking US and European cars on quality not much later - 80's. My point is that while Chinese products may seem cheap and inferior today - don't discount them in the future like we did with the Japanese who ate the auto-industries lunch (and many other industries like consumer electronics).
