Suffolk shooter
It was suggested at Lakenheath that those of us on here who are members of the CPSA, should meet at Peterborough 24th March for the AGM. Anybody fancy it?? SS
pin
That's the same day as the suffolk shoot with alison/ian..
Suffolk shooter
I realise that, but might be able to do both on the day, not that far from peterborough?
Catamong
I wasn't intending to go, I'm ashamed to admit that I've never been to one, and I've been a member for many years. Don't expect to be able to raise questions from the floor, they have structured the rules of the AGM to ensure that nobody can do this, in true democratic style all questions have to be submitted in writing several weeks before the meeting. They obviously don't like to be ambushed or voted down by groups of disgruntled members with a particular axe to grind. Are you going to vote in person for or against the name change..?? If so, this can be done by proxy form contained in the March issue of Pull magazine. Or are you just curious as to what is discussed and agreed at these meetings..?? Cat. Suffolk shooter
I have already done my Proxy vote against the name change, but still feel that it will go through regardless, otherwise why would they have spent that £70k already??? I'm still not convinced in the slightest that the CPSA is as fair and democratic as it makes itself out to be. It seems as I have said before "Jobs for the Boys". I note that two national director places are up for renewal along with the East Midlands and one other region, what's the betting that the two regional posts are filled by the existing candidates and that more of the same cronies fill the other two national posts. Call me sceptical, but it's a closed shop mate SS
Catamong
SS, How long have you been a member..?? Are you really speaking from personal knowledge or just a gut feel that it's a pretty rotten ship..?? Believe me, there is no guarantee that existing candidates will be re-elected and it's certainly not a forgone conclusion that the name change will go through, I honestly believe it won't. We will all know soon enough. Cat
Suffolk shooter
Cat, Long enough to know when it's a closed shop mate, you only have to look at the regional boards to see the same old faces year in, year out. It's a case of if your face fits you're ok, and if you're not part of the clique then you might as well not bother. At the end of the day the CPSA is no different to any other organisation or the government for that matter. The minority rule the majority and what they say goes. As i said earlier, call me sceptical.............................. SS
