The Essex Hunter
As a second taster to the marsh I took Chip along a couple of days ago to see how he got on... Needless to say he had a good time as I don't know any young boy who didn't like the mud. He wont be going in on any tidal water work as he is not the right build, but getting a bit of shooting on the mud is always an option... Plenty of Teal around with a brace each, however Chip was beaten to them by a very keen springer!! It would have been nice to add them to his list of retrieve's but there is plenty of time yet... Penelope
I'm sure he would be just fine in the water. As sure as eggs is eggs, you'll end up with a water retrieve at some point out there. Have you considered on of the neoprene dog jackets? Would give him that little bit more protection against the elements and can be had with removable floatation aids.
