manton
Quite a while ago ammunition manufactures and dealers were telling us that they had to increase prices because of the rising market price of lead. Over the last year lead prices have dropped like the proverbial stone so why has this not been passed on to shooters as lower prices. I feel that shooters are far too willing to pay and not to ask questions . One result of this is that several shooters in my area have told me that they just cannot afford to shoot as much as they once did. Lately road fuel costs have dropped and transport costs should fall so why are ammunition prices so high?. I feel that competition in this market is not effective which leads to a "we can ask what we like for our products situation.
bluesj
the lack of competition and not enough demand i would think are the biggest thing. there are two places within 15 minutes of me to pick up .22 only one has much in the way of shotgun cartridges to choose from the other just stocks what was cheapest when they placed the order so you will get a different make each time only one carry .243 other than that its a 11/2 too 2 hour round trip.
