bigadam
My first and second attempt at a mora sheath. Get a few quid and some more leather and I'm going to have another crack. Thanks to saddler for advice
Mike737
Nice work! How thick does your leather need to be? I have loads of offcuts of upholstery leather, usually about 1mm thick. You can pick it up in Goole, where you can choose colour etc., or I'll post it to you if it's any good to you. Mike.
humperdingle
Nice work. That will develop a nice patina over time. (Addictive, isn't it?) Edited January 26, 2015 by humperdingle
photon
Excellent work for your first goes well done. Dye for leather isn't cheap and not always readily available so a cheap way is this, http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?75951-Vinegaroon-Tutorial/page2&highlight=vinegaroon Credit goes to g4ghb for the tutorial Vinegaroon was used on both of these sheaths. Down side is it only comes in black and it will smell like a tramps vest for a while. The reaction must be nutralised or it will mark your blade. I hope the information is ok to post on here. photon
Sorry should have said where it was, Not all leather will take this method so it's worth doing a test on a scrap bit of leather. I think veg tanned will give the best results.
