spandit
Snuck out tonight for the first time in ages (and first time with the NV). Took the 22LR and after a bit of a wait, got sight of a bunny. With the NV it didn't seem startled so I took my time... squeezed the trigger... and... ...Nothing. Just a dull click. Presuming the ammo was at fault I cycled a new one but by then the rabbit had gone. Thought I'd fire at a safe target just to check the accuracy of the NV but couldn't get it to fire at all, wouldn't even click! Back at home, took it apart (Anschutz 525) to find that the back of the trigger sear is sprung loaded, I presume to prevent slam fire. It wasn't moving freely but after a brief clean and lube, it was firing like a good 'un! Too late to go out again and not sure I like the night vision. It's clever & all but think I need a spotter or second camera as zoom a bit high.
activeviii
Love the NV. Wouldn't be without it now. I use a red t20 torch to search, once I pick up eyes I try and remember the distance and then sneak in to where I think the shot will be from and then up on sticks, NV on with the scope wound out to 4 I spot what I need and then zoom to 14 for the head shot. Lost count of the number of rats, rabbits and foxes I've taken since switching to NV. Stick with it and see how things change
spandit
Mine is fixed zoom, as it's homemade. Pretty effective but very shallow depth of field. Fixed the gun anyway & turned a thread protector on the lathe as a reward!
