Bigstu84
Got a field being drilled with beat this week, was planning to shoot it on Sunday if there is any interest from the birds - anyone had much luck on beat drillings, I have never shot over it before? la bala
I have never seen pigeon on Beet drillings in my area. Have seen them on Beet tops after harvest. Edited March 25, 2015 by la bala
Guest stevo
As a rule they won't bother with that until after harvest. Then just about everything will have a go clearing up the Tops. hares on the other can be a pain before then. They love munching the beets. fenboy
Never shot any pigeon on beet drillings. I have however shot a few nice bags on the beet as it starts growing through , just keep a eye on it , I think the pigeon are mainly there for the weeds between the rows but they will eat the young beet. Bigstu84
Thanks for that guys, I have also had good days on tops, and young beet but wasn't sure about the drill - there's plenty of rape on my perm so maybe I will have more luck there!
