wymberley
Sorry not sure what you mean? I think it means that if the loss occurred while you were a member, you were therefore covered at the time of the loss. Sort of like breaking a leg on holiday. If you were suitable covered by insurance, you can still claim on arrival home even though the period of cover has ended.
brett1985
David, just out of curiosity, how long would someone have to wait for a case to be reviewed by a lawyer and be given the go ahead?
David BASC
Under the old 'self insurance' scheme, then no, once you leave BASC all support would finish. Under the current insurance scheme I will check the terms & conditions when i am back off leave next week, but I would be pretty sure that if you chose to give the case to another layer then there would be limitations / endorsements. As to how long does it take to assess a case, typically 1-2 days by the lawyer once the bundle arrives from the police, much of ocurse depends on the size of the bundle and the complexity of the case. but most will only take a day
