taxidermy dave
Finally ive got some birds on some drillings,i went for a drive yesterday at about 12.30 - 1, just on the off chance id find some and ****** me did i find some, the field runs parrelel(sp) with the farm drive on a hill,on the first 100 metres there was the odd couple about but when i got over the hill the next 600 metres was litrely(sp) blue with them, there must of been an easy 600 on there and they were still coming in , even the oak tree in the middle of the field was nearly falling over with the amount of them in it.I went and had a chat with the farmer who said they've only been on it since friday.Ive just got back in from having another look today(i cant shoot this paticular farm on a sunday because he dosnt like people banging away on a sunday which is fair enough i suppose) and there still there, every where you look is pigeons.Anyway enough typing i'd better go get the batteries on charge and get all my gear ready for an early start tommorow.Ill be back on when im done and let you all know how many i shot dave

Cranfield
Few things better than early drillings. No sign of anything similar round here, a few ploughed fields and thats about it.
taxidermy dave
Well didnt manage to get out yesterday ended up having loads of things to do Got out today though,i arrived about 9 ish, with not a breath of wind and full sunshine started by shooting 1 every 15-20 min or so, which wernt too bad, this lasted about 3 hours, then it went totally dead till around 4,at which point they started to appear from eveywhere, missed quite a lot coming into the decoys due to me watching a totally different bird the otherside of the field, then in the corner of my eye see one fly away from the pattern.I ended the day with 62 pigeon,1 jackdaw and a jay.Not a bad bag by all acounts but i just wish there was a bit more wind and less sunshine like there has been the last few days! moral of the story?!! if the birds are there get out and shoot them as soon as possible even if it would mean getting moaned at by her indoors!!!!!! dave
