Cranfield
I had a day last week, just before the cold spell and the fish were moving. I had two commons about 8-10lb, but the small fish carp or bream were a nuisance, with lots of lifts and drop backs. Unfortunately, I went equipped to fish the method and this was just attracting the smaller fish all day. Early in the season its a deadly method on these lakes, where there are fish over 40 lbs, but next time I think it will be a large bait and a 4 bait stringer, that will keep them away. MAG1
Carp fishing got too political could the same happen with shooting. The problem with carp fishing is that all the big companys have to many field testers, they give so much bait and tackle away to gain control of waters.then you get cant fish here its a mainline water cant fish there its a nash water and so on,if gun and cart manufacters done the same it would happen in shooting, cant see it though not as much markup in the goods

(thats who put them where they are right now) and the lack of members will be its downfall.

Yes i agree.20 yrs ago the only carp show you could go to or mag you could get was done by them, now lots of other companys and people are doing it.they bin left behind.as for politics the angling press and large companys dictate them,i see it every day

Cranfield
The Carp Society was responsible back in the 60-70's, in helping carp fishing become more popular to the general angler and not just the few specialists. However, it lost its way quite a few years ago and I don't think it is relevant any more to the average carp angler.
