Paddy Galore!
Hi gents, the battery warning light is flickering at about 3000rpm, does that mean my alternator is on its way out? no other problems that I've noticed, it starts fine even after having the radio on for half a day so the battery itself is good. as always, any help gratefully received. paddy just to add it's a 1.9 sdi Edited June 25, 2015 by Paddy Galore! TaxiDriver
If you can get hold of a volt meter, with engine running you should have a reading of somewhere between 13-14volts. Could be alternator or as simple as belt slipping ?
Paddy Galore!
Hi Neil, thanks for your help. I had a word with a mate and he reckons it's to do with the alternator putting out less volts than the battery. not crying in my cornflakes at present over this as it's still working, and I know the local breakers will do me a good deal on a replacement when I can get around to it. atb, Paddy. huds78
I had a similar issue with my Citroen Relay recently and it turned out to be a dodgy earth lead to the chassis, new one put on and no problems since (touch wood)
