Uncle Albert Posted July 20, 2015 Report Share Posted July 20, 2015 Shotgun barrels are proved by using shells that produce well over the maximum designed pressure they are supposed to be used to. That ammunition I assume is referred to as special proof test ammunition. I believe it is something like 150% of the designed pressure.
