Sou'Wester
Hello chaps, seeking the combined wisdom of the PW masses. So I picked up my first shotgun this afternoon, S/H but in remarkably good condition very happy with it for what I paid; though no doubt some would be underwhelmed. Thing is someone (previous owner I guess) has put a rather large browning sticker on the butt stock which is blummin horrible, is there a way to get it off without damaging the wood? I was thinking hairdryer and soft scraper? Cheers for any thoughts
steve_b_wales
Peel of as much as you can, and remove the glue residue with WD40 sprayed onto a cloth. Use sparingly.
humperdingle
You may well find that the wood under the sticker is a completely different colour compared to the rest of it. But as Steve says, WD-40 is great for removing glue residue.
Sou'Wester
Cheers for that, somebody else mentioned WD40 but I wasn't sure, wood should be ok under the sticker, it's mostly clear with writing on top of it.
