stuy
Sorted my priorities out and went out on the rape stubbles ! Saturday was a frustrating day started at 10.30 am with really strong flight line coming out of town but they just had other ideas I.e another rape stubble about 1 mile away which as it happens I have permission to shoot, but it borders a industrial estate and houses , horses etc.. and in the past caused a few headaches with people complaining, so just was picking up the occasional bird that would peel off the line and ended up with 88 . Today tried another rape stubble weather looked dodgy in the morning but sat for an hour in car and found that the birds crossed over an old oak to access the field and then they headed for a ash tree , which would give me a good shelter from rain and the wind on my back! So off I went sat under the ash started at 10,40 am and birds came as a steady ones and two's and by 1pm had 69 on the clicker, gave my pal mike a call to come and join me for some sport and it was sporting indeed those young birds jinking in the very strong winds, ended the day at 4.45pm with 146 picked happy mike, happy stu Edited August 4, 2015 by stuy
motty
Nice to hear you had some great sport with a friend. I had a bag of 82 on rape stubble, yesterday, and I would be more than happy to get a similar result as your second day, tomorrow.
