Keeping these safe is sometime hard

Sometime you just get out foxed by a fox. I have been trying to get a fox for my neighbour as it made a dent in his lambs. Two weeks ago some Sunday walkers saw the fox run across the field, grab a wee lamb by the throat :good: , through it into the air :good: at which time they shouted at the fox and it ran off. The lamb bled to death :good: I have found this fellow very illusive indeed. I can't fine tracks and his visit times are a bit wackey; not unless there is more than one. My excuse is that it is late in the season and he is more sly and smart. Mean while he took another lamb from out below nose. To try to find out when this fox is in my shoot I tried a wee trick with my daughter's pink mickey mouse clock; colour and cartoon not essential. I taped tie clock to a bush, then with tape and 6ft of string, one end attached the battery and the other to a rabbit's foot I left them to see what time the fox was passing through. 0225hrs was the mean and 1120hrs was the other. Sorry I am not that keen to monitor the shoot for 3 hours. That said I have been shooting rabbits for a friend and leaving them for foxy and may try to get him next weekend. If I get him I'll let you know :good:

Note the grass on the string from the bunnies legs to the clock, photo 2.
