Highlander
Heard my first Cuckoo yesterday outside the office window, didn't get to see it though. Is this a first or do you know better?...everytime I mention to someone that I've seen the first ducklings, young pigeons, swallows, swifts etc of the season they've seen them even earlier.. But I still don't believe we're seeing things out of season any more than we ever did. Talk to the real oldies (80+) farmers and countrymen alike and their stories are the same, there's always been unusual events which kinda makes them less unusual
Cranfield
I have not heard a cuckoo yet, but we have 8 moorhen chicks in the dyke at the bottom of our garden.
M ROBSON
I've not heard a Cuckoo yet, we get a few around here but not normally till about the end of the month. But we do have dozens of Woodpeckers, I've seen and heard more of them this month than ever before. The Swallows are starting to make an appearance too. Mark.
