arjimlad
I have a Gunmark Merlin made in 1974, and it has been a super gun. The finish is streets ahead of an AYA no 4. The striking off of the barrels is much better. There is engine-turning on the barrel flats. I'd say it was like an old Beretta for quality. These are little-known gems. This one is in far better condition than mine and I paid half as much again for mine. It is a lovely lightweight (just over 6lb) game gun and an ideal pigeon gun with 28oz loads. Mine has a 14.75" stock. Good luck with the sale - if I needed a pair of guns & was nearer, I'd have this off you in a flash.
meady638
thanks for your post. i am a bit reluctant in selling as i truly think its a great gun, my issue i have is that i cant master the dual trigger, think im a bit special but i struggle naturally to switch between them. I bought this gun as a project as the stock was previously sprayed(DIY JOB) with a can of shellac which was terrible and had bad scratches. i also have a Beretta s686 special which has the same quality build to the Merlin but without the price tag hopefully someone will be able to enjoy it more than i am able too. arjimlad
I grew up using double trigger SBS as well as single trigger OU and love the instant barrel choice double triggers offer. This model has an articulated front trigger in case the buyer has big hands and is worried about getting bashed in the fingers on the back trigger. Good luck with the sale, I think you are mad getting rid, but there's a real bargain for someone. It's a lotta gun for the money and to get the equivalent quality today you would be spending thousands not hundreds.

meady638
i didnt pay a huge amount for it as the gun did not look like it does now, there was such bad scratches and dents as well as oxidation on the action which i repaired. i would keep it if it was sentimental however its not so im not looking to bleed someones wallet :-) i would love someone to perhaps swap me a old semi auto ( 12, 20 gauge) that needs stock re finishing or bluing needed repair as i love doing them up to bring them back to there former glory. and your comment on the trigger was a learning curve for me as i always wondered why it did that. thanks mate :-)
