davhope
As a novice pidgeon shooter, I am wondering about how much gear I need to purchase to get myself started[bare minimum], also does anybody know of any guides in the scottish borders area? Deako
Hi mate, welcome to the site! Could you borrow some gear from a friend, to see if you like the sport prior to spending your cash? If not, I'd recommend a dozen plastic shells (Deben hi detail are good), an ex military net (cheap as possible) and half a dozen garden canes to use as hide poles. This basic kit will suffice for your first few trips, and if you get the 'bug' (and you will! ), you can start to equip yourself with some better gear as you progress. Good luck! Vermin Dropper
Hi, deako is right, you only need a few basics to start, and some would prefer to stick like that too, as you progress I think you will want more and better quality gear but you have to weigh it up with what cash you can justify spending (no offence YP), and how much you are willing to carry across fields. The other thing I would add is, you can get away with just some drab clothes as long as your hide does it's job, but I would advise a face veil or at least a wide brimmed hat.
