OffAim
Sorry for another question...............or two..... What approximate dimensions are .17HMR x 50 boxes..............and the same for .22LR x 50? I just found a small secure safe that can be fixed inside my gun cabinet using the same wall mounting holes, or I can weld it in. It is 225mm wide x 165mm x 110mm deep..........I'm guessing 500 of either might just fit in there. Thanks, AL.
deershooter
Will the rifle still fit in with the safe inside
OffAim
Yep.....with the moderator off at worst..........although my Beretta 32" shotgun and Weirauch HW97 standard long barrel fit in there easily......but I could keep the upper box to one side to allow for a taller gun. Les*1066
.22 lr x 50 = +/- 75mm (w) x 42mm (d) x 26mm (h). A brick of 500 measures +/- 139w x 78d x 87h. [measurements taken on SK Standard Plus].
OffAim
Thanks Les.....so I could get at least 600-900 .22 LR in that space..........which means .17HMR about 500max.... I just found out that I can get my spare 4 gun cabinet inside my main 5 gun cabinet, with loads of space on top of the 4 gun one........ ....put the guns in the 4 gun cabinet and lock it, with the ammo on top, then lock the 5 gun cabinet.......... ...................but I'll bet the FLO won't like that, even though it 'sort of' complies........just the wrong way around..... bluesj
Why not just get one of the small yale type safes from b&q and put it above you gun cabinet? I can get 600 plus 22, 600 plus 17, 200 243, bolts, mags and mods in it (not the 243 mod) ,
paulnix
I got a ammo safe off Amazon and bolted it above the gun cabinet, £36 I think it was, and loads of room, think you be better off doing something like that rather than try to fit in the cabinet and restrict room in it, you never know what you will end up with and may need that "spare " cabinet Edited March 3, 2016 by paulnix
