clanchief
Never done it to a HW, though my stud on the synthetic stock was a bit loose on my CZ, I simply made up some Araldite rapid and pushed the screw in with some glue and wiped off the excess, taped it in place overnight and its been perfect
Zetter
My local RFD fitted them for me on a 97Kt Synthetic and basically screwed a sling swivel in as normal with a bit of epoxy in the hole to make sure it held. It never came loose in 3 years of owning the gun so should be fine.

kenj
I did the mod on my synthetic Magtech 7022 semi auto rim fire, fitting a Jack Pyke sling, which comes with studs, one long for the butt and one short for the front. I reviewed fitting this on my blog. http://www.urbanfieldsportsman.com/index.php/improved-magtech-7022-field-test/
