Wildfowler12
Evening all, I'm hoping someone could point me in the direction of a reputable 'gun fit' assessor (does such a title exists?) in the North West? I've been shooting for 10 years now and consider myself to be an average shot. But I've got the classic problem of 'too many guns in the cabinet', all of which have a different LOP, cast and comb! Whilst I don't want to part with any of them, I think the time has come to invest in a new O/U to cover everything, bar my wildfowling. And with that in mind, I'd like this new one to fit like a glove. I'd be very grateful if you could recommend anyone? Particularly someone who can do the necessary stock mods too. Thanks in advance. HDAV
Simon at dove ridge has a very good rep but a lesson or 2 with Brian "Beretta" Clegg might be a good idea first....
Gordon R
In the North West - only proper option is Brian Clegg.
Wildfowler12
Forgive my ignorance, but is 'gun fit' an activity that a coach would normally be competent to assess? I'm not just talking about shaving a 1/4' off the stock, I want it to fit perfect, drop, cast, comb, LOP etc. Many thanks for your replies. I went down to Holland and Holland in February and spent an hour fitting with a coach there with a try gun on pattern plate and clays. They give you a certificate with all the various measurements on which you can take to your gunsmith/stockmaker to have your gun fitted.
