Scope Suitability

Personally I wouldn't put it on a CF and my advice is to get the best you can afford. Even if it's a secondhand Schmidt and bender Hungarian.

Can I ask why? Will it not stand up to recoil? I'm not convinced about this high end optics case (although it works for the manufacturer) but I would like to know why they should be used over the lower cost stuff. The optics on the Nikko and For that matter Hawke Binos I have is very good.

If it is cheap try it then you will know. I have had mixed experience with el cheapo scopes, and the worst gun for wrecking them was an air rifle original model 48 sideleaver that thing ate a cheapo richter optik and webley in one sitting and never used a napkin.

But i have had an equaly cheap optimate on my regular .22250 for 15 years or more, **** in low light but its been bomb proof so far and dose what i want on that rifle. try it it will either work or drop to bits then you will know. .

Well I bought my first CF 10 years ago which was a 223 and I put a Hawke AirMax scope on it. It was over £200 but I just didn't find it was zeroing well and didn't hold it either. Took it back a few days later and got a full refund. Bought a Schmidt and bender 8x56 Hungarian and the extra coupe of hundred quid was well worth it as it was a totally different animal. Yes I'd put your scope you mention or a Hawke on a rimfire but not a CF. It will also give you more confidence in your shooting as the last thing you want to be doing is thinking 'is thing gonna keep zero on the next shot'. They say pay for scope what you pay for rifle.
