I am thinking 'Brenda'.

 

Two other things are on my list

 

Waxoil - They said that the chassis and metalwork is in pretty good condition and that Waxoil treatment would keep rust in check.

Soundproofing - I don't expect it to be a quiet ride but they said that treating the front of the car - floor, bulkhead and bonnet (I think it was called dynamite) - makes a big difference.

 

Any views on these?

Wouldn't worry about the diff unless it wobbles up and down significantly or makes a racket, most LR diffs have frightening amounts of backlash and just keep going. Sound proofing can be good, it mutes the tinny noises and makes life more pleasant. It also holds the water though so if you're going deep enough for water to flood the cabin you may not want to bother

Yes to both of those but as Rod has pointed out, don't let it get wet. Dynamat is the stuff i think you mean.

 

Brenda is good, any particular reason?
