Dave-G
I rarely take out my 17REM because most of my shooting is rabbits on not very centrefire safe ground - but I got a request to deal with a fox problem elsewhere so it got a rare outing. I'd pre-focused the rig on a previous visit to be correct at the new bait post slightly further away - which I made my zero point at 150 yards from a non skylined position. The fox was heading straight for the new gutted rabbit bait but took interest in something to its left and it looked like I was likely to lose it. Dropping the fox was more important than getting the recording properly focused - and as it was spotted almost as soon as I got to the shooting position so I didn't have time to set up the crosshair focus either. It looked at me when I stopped it with a whistle and I feel it took a *** was that look after it got hit. Alycidon
Always shoot the dumpers, their mind is elsewhere and they go to the promised land contented !!. More importantly you know that they will be still for 5 seconds. A
