Any refrigeration engineers here?

As above, a bit of a long story but two recent fridge failures pose a question.

First my old domestic Munty chiller died spectacularly and was scrapped.

Now an oldish upright freezer has failed but looking to convert to a chiller, maybe?

A couple of weeks ago the door was not closed so the motor ran for full bore for hours. A switch off and defrost saw it up again for a few weeks, now however the motor runs but the unit not capable of a full freeze.

So, what's wrong? worth repair? worth conversion thermostat to a chiller?

Or is it a scrapper as i suspect but have little knowledge of these things.

Cheers.

Depends on the conotion etc as to if it's worth saving. Is the compressor running? Is there any form of cooling? If it's a small domestic unit it will eather be propane or r413a refrigerant could be a number of issues but with thermostat compressor expansion valve coil fault. Where do you live if it's anywhere near Leicester or rutland could possibly help.
