wilts 66
Haven't been out lately, so today I had the the chance to shoot on a field where whole crop barley had been cut and foraged midweek. Arrived at 7.45 and after a quick reckie decided to set up under a hedge shooting down hill. Set up with 6 fuds and four crow decoys, rooks and crows started to come in and after about an hour a few pigeons started to decoy, as well, as the hours passed the crows died away but the pigeons started to come in numbers, I was shooting 7.5 25 grams in top and 6.32 in bottom barrel, I was surprised how well the 7.5 killed crows at distance, anyway to cut a long story short I finished up with 46 pigeons and 50 various, this was my first fifty and almost the magic 100, had a great day, although very warm and humid, (left my bottles of water at home). JBS
Sounds like a great day but why shoot such vastly different loads?
wilts 66
Hi JBS, the main reason for the different loads was my thinking that if I missed with first shot the 32grm would help with birds flying away, especially the rooks and crows, but I was really pleased with some long range first shots at the corvids.
