ChrisPCarter
I have been looking at trap guns and was originally thinking of getting a new MK38 Trap Gr5 with adjustable stock but have seen a couple of Blaser F3 SuperTrap's for similar money. I've seen one advertised as the ATA and others as AT2. Is this the same gun or an older version of it? Anyone have one? Any thoughts? Chris. Gordon R
Had a Blaser for a short time, but wasn't impressed. My son liked it, but I thought the trigger pulls were poor. Miroku grade 5 - a better gun in my book.
ChrisPCarter
That's one thing I'd read about the Blaser is that the trigger pulls are excellent and the MK38 can need a bit of tweaking. Don't know who to believe ha ha I am thinking of having a play with one tomorrow.
B25Modelman
I have a late 2015 F3 catalogue and there is no mention of an ATA or AT2. They all have names.
ChrisPCarter
That's why I've been wondering but all the ones for sale online say either AT2 (most of them) or ATA Super Trap I'm a bit confused. I asked the shop selling the ATA what the difference was and he said it's the same gun so I'm none the wiser.

ChrisPCarter
I picked up the used F3 Super Trap today on demo and took it to my local clay ground to check it out. I spent 5 minutes adjusting the comb to a rough fit and left the adjustable rib alone, though I wasn't sure how it was set and wondered if it would be anywhere near the standard 70:30 point of impact. I didn't have time to pattern it or check POI. I left the chokes in that were in it 3/4 and Full - I normally shoot 1/4 and 1/2 in my sporter but sometimes tighter for DTL. I've never shot a high rib before so it was a bit of an experiment to see if I could actually hit anything with it. I did two rounds of DTL and one of sporting with it as a test. I normally shoot an MK38 Teague Sporter and do OK but nothing special. I've only shot around 300 targets at DTL in the past with my sporter and have been hitting 88% with a few second barrels too. On Sporting I've been averaging 77% hit. Well first shots on DTL with the Blaser and I almost straighted it. First 25 I hit 23 first barrel, one second and a single loss which I put down to not concentrating. Second 25 were all first barrel apart from one loss. Now that is a massive improvement and to say it was my first go with it I'm amazed. I then did a round of sporting but wasn't really scoring as my mates were messing about by then. It was a little trickier but I certainly did as well if not better than with my sporter. I'm really really impressed with it and it seems to hit what I point it at. It looks very well put together too.
