6.5x55SE
This evening I took both Lab's for a walk to check if any Pigeon had found a cut Rape Field near me. As it was so windy I walked the field because at first I saw nothing. Putting 200-300 off I stood in the field watching as singles pair's came inches of the ground so fingers crossed for a shot or two in the next few days. I stood watching dressed in shorts white T-shirt and 2 black lab's when I saw a Roe Doe being chased by a Roe Buck some distance off within a minute or two they was in the standing wheat next going mad the speed they traveled was amazing suddenly out the wheat onto the Rape a quick 50yrd bypass then back into the wheat. Round and round up the field when I caught something out of the corner of my eye unbelievable another Roe Buck came full pelt up the Rape straight at me when only 15 yrd away it stops gruffs then runs straight into the wheat and starts chasing the Doe and Buck. After a 10-15 minute walk back to the truck still they was playing catch in the wheat. Although I have permission on this Farm I have a soft spot for Roe so never bothered getting the Rifle so I left them and the Pigeon which was steadily flighting into the stubble in peace
