RAMMER BURT
you say you already have a shootgun certifacate?if you have why are you asking this question at 15 you can not shoot on your own,you have to be with an adult , best thing to do is ring your local firmares officer for your arear he will tell you what the law is
Fisherman Mike
Hi PS Welcome to the Club. I strongly reccomend you make contact with your local Firearms Officer. Every regional police station has one. If he is anything like mine he will be a great help and provide all of the printed information about Shotgun Certification and the law you could ever want. Also visit www.basc.org.uk/content/shotgunpractice. for answers to your queries. Basically; Provided a shotgun certificate is held there is no restriction on possession if aged between fifteen and under 17 but a shotgun cannot be hired or bought. There is no lower age limit for the granting of a shotgun certificate but under 15 you can only possess a shotgun if in the supervision of a person over the age of 21 When not in use shotguns must be stored in a secure place, usually a police approved British Standard Firearms cabinet. RAMMER BURT
hi all,if you cant hire or by a gun then restriction do apply,as for a cabinet well i just hang my gun above the fire place so when i get robbed they can shoot me with my own gun only joking it's under my bed

Hammergun
If you have your own certificate and you are aged 15, you may use the gun unsupervised on land for which you have permission to shoot on. You may not purchase a shotgun or ammunition until aged 17.

So basically if i have a shotgun certificate and the gun is under my and my dads name because my dad has a license i would be able to fire the shotgun on private land without supervision? Hammergun
As long as: 1, The certificate is your personal one and has your name at the top. 2, Either the gun is on your own certificate OR You are borrowing it for less than 72 hours 3, You are aged 15 or over 4, You have permission to shoot on the land
